Mare & Foal Exam

We offer post foaling examinations of the mare and foal to make certain both are healthy. It is recommended that this examination be completed within 24 hours of foaling.

Blood testing is performed on foal to test for proper amounts of colostrum from mare, and the foal is supplemented if necessary. We also examine the placenta to determine if the mare has retained any portion in the uterus and treat accordingly.
